Parts Needing Repair or Replaced

The parts in the first four picture are from the rear end torsion bar. The bottom nut of the ⅞" shaft was sheared off at some time, which bent the front support and broke the spring. I am having a new shaft made and the support straightened and will get a new spring.

The next pictures are of the pinion assembly it weights over 20 pounds and has two double row ball bearings. All I wanted to do was put a modern seal on the shaft. After I got the seal retainer out I seen that sometime in the Apperson life someone had done a back yard fix with a center punch and a hammer as seen in the pictures. I am going to have the pinion shaft built up and turned down for the new bearings I get the old ones were bad. I also need to have a new seal retainer made the old one came out in pieces.

The last pictures are of the transmission seal retainers which had noting in them so the transmission oil would just flow out if you filled to the level needed. All the old seals were felt which I am going to upgrade to modern seal. The real wheel seals were upgrade last year to stop the leak which was saturating the brake shoes. This should take care of most leaks I have.
