1914 Apperson Jackrabbit Wooldridge Family History

Apperson Pendants and other Items

I purchased a Apperson pennant off eBay. It was only the second one I have seen. Probably should not have bought it but it is very rare and will look great on display with my other Apperson items.

Turns out that the person that had the Apperson pennant I bought also had a second one. My friend and fellow Apperson fan Tim Pederson bought it.

This is only the third one I have seen and now Tim and I own two of them.

I also have pictures of other Apperson items I have acquired over the years.

  • Apperson Pennant #2 Apperson Pennant #2 Turns out that the person that had the Apperson pennant also had a second one. My friend and fellow Apperson fan Tim Pederson bought it.
  • Apperson Pennant #2 Apperson Pennant #2 The pennant is the opposite of the one I got. I think that was so they could be put on poles on each side of the Apperson dealer display.
  • Door Step Plates Door Step Plates The large plate is for the drivers side front. The small on was for the rear of a touring and could be use on either side. Not sure what they are made of may be Stellite steel. Haynes, also from Kokomo, invented Stellite, a cobalt-chromium-tungsten alloy, is much harder than many steels and has proved an ideal material for cutting tools. He also invented a number of other important alloys, including tungsten chrome steel, a chromium and nickel alloy, and a chromium and cobalt alloy.
  • Jackrabbit From The Early to Late Jackrabbit From The Early to Late The top one was used one the radiator until about 1915. The middle one was used after that. The last one was used on the V-8 That Apperson started making about 1916 or 1917.
  • Radiator Cap Mounted Radiator Cap Mounted This rabbit was used on the 1920 Apperson mounted on the radiator cap. This rabbit came off a Apperson that my Mom's parents drove cross country from Indiana to California in the late 20's or early 30's with two small children, my Mom and her brother.
